The 3rd Framework Working Group is being convened under India’s G20 Presidency from June 13-14 2023 in Kochi, Kerala. It wasco-chaired by Dr. V. Ananth Nageswaran, Chief Economic Adviser, Union Ministry of Finance, and Tom Hemingway, Deputy Director of the Treasury, and focused on global macroeconomic issues of current relevance.
Over 75 delegates from G-20 member states, invited countries and various international and regional organizations participated in the meeting. On the sidelines of the meeting, a panel discussion on “Financial Globalization – Opportunities and Risks” will be organized on the second day of the meeting. The panel will be moderated by Prof. of Cornell University, Ishwar Prasad.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the current global economic outlook, the macroeconomic impact of food and energy insecurity, and the macroeconomic impact of climate change and transition pathways. The delegates were taken on the Kochi Water Metro and enjoyed performances by local artists during a cultural event on Monday night. Additionally, various programs were planned to give them a glimpse of the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Kochi.
