360 Graduates Receive Degrees at Assam Women’s University Convocation

During the fifth convocation ceremony of Assam Women’s University in Jorhat, Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya conferred degrees upon 360 graduates, emphasizing the transformative power of knowledge. He articulated that knowledge is the greatest asset, highlighting the occasion as a culmination of years of dedication. Acharya expressed his confidence in the graduates making meaningful contributions to society and wished them success in their future endeavors. The ceremony also honored social worker Riniki Bhuyan Sharma with a D.Litt degree for her contributions to social and cultural activities in Assam, with the Governor commending her as an inspiring figure for women in the state. Emphasizing women’s education, he aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision that empowered women enhance families and communities. He acknowledged the university’s role in supporting higher education for women from diverse backgrounds and praised its alignment with the National Education Policy. Finally, Acharya urged graduates to embrace lifelong learning and contribute to sustainable development in society. The convocation address was delivered by Prof. Streamlet Dkhar from Northeastern Hill University (NEHU).
