According to administrative officials, almost 25 lakh people celebrated Ram Navami festivities in Ayodhya on Thursday by taking a swim in the river Saryu and visiting the city’s temples.
On the festival of Chaitra Ram Navami, they said that thousands of devotees flocked to the temple town under the strict security measures put in place by the government.
The festivities began very early in the day. At noon, special prayers were said in each of Ayodhya’s temples.
