2,000 Beneficiaries Screened at Susrukha Setu Health Camp in Silchar

On the fifth day of Seva Hi Samarpan: Seva Saptah, the Cachar district administration hosted the second LAC-wise Mega Health Camp as part of the flagship program Susrukha Setu. The camp, which was held at Assam Palace in the Silchar constituency, received a resounding response, screening 1,918 beneficiaries and referring 234 patients to top hospitals for Phase II specialist treatment. Senior officials, including District Commissioner Mridul Yadav, Joint Director of Health Services Dr. Shibananda Roy, and Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakraborty, attended the program. According to Chakraborty, the project aimed to provide people a sense of security and trust in addition to providing treatment.

He also mentioned how 100 Nikshay Mitras under Seva Saptah recently adopted 100 TB patients, who were given food baskets and vowed assistance at Gandhi Bhawan. The Mega Health Camp provided specialized consultations in pediatrics, neurology, ophthalmology, ENT, and other departments and was specifically created for kids aged 0 to 18. In addition to screening for congenital heart abnormalities, neurological disorders, psychosomatic illnesses, TB, cancer, and other health difficulties, beneficiaries also had access to diagnostic services like lab testing, electrocardiograms, and dental examinations.

Additionally, physiotherapy, Ayush and Unani consultations, immunization services, and PMJAY health card distribution were conducted. The program gained a health component when the NGO Shiv Durga Club of Palonghat gave a yoga session, inspiring families to embrace preventive lifestyle choices. Later, DC Mridul Yadav and MLA Dipayan Chakraborty went to the screening counters, spoke with patients, workers, and physicians, and personally examined how the camp was operating. Similar health programs will be implemented in each of Cachar’s five assembly constituencies, officials announced.
