The Telangana state electricity company has cut off the connection to Ujjwal Stadium due to non-payment of electricity bills. The officials of the power company claimed that despite repeated letters warning to the HCA authorities, no work was done. In this situation, doubts have been created about the IPL match on Friday.
The authorities of Telangana State Sardan Power Distribution Company Limited claim that the outstanding electricity bill amount of HCA is 1 crore 63 lakh 94 thousand 521 rupees. However, Hyderabad cricket officials do not agree with this claim. It is known that HCA owed Tk 3 crore 5 lakh 12 thousand 790 for electricity bill. Out of this, the original bill amount was 1 crore 41 lakh 18 thousand 269 taka. The remaining 1 crore 63 lakh 94 thousand 521 taka was surge charge. The HCA requested the Telangana state electricity company to waive off the surge charges due to the Corona crisis. But the power company informed last February that it is not possible to discount this huge amount of money. HCA was directed to deposit the due amount within 15 days of receiving the notice. If not, legal action will be taken.
Telangana power authorities on Thursday disconnected the power supply to the Ujjwal Stadium after the Hyderabad Cricket Association failed to deposit the dues. Hyderabad cricket officials are in trouble due to such a situation on the eve of the Hyderabad-Chennai match. They are trying to organize Friday’s match by making alternative arrangements.
