₹200 crore CSR push: Piyush Goyal launches Malabar Gold & Diamonds’ mega social initiative

Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Tuesday unveiled Malabar Gold & Diamonds’ ₹200 crore CSR programme for FY 2026–27 at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, marking a major push towards education, healthcare and social welfare. The minister also inaugurated the distribution of scholarships to 33,000 girl students across India. Calling the initiative aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao vision, Goyal said the investment would strengthen inclusive growth, with a focus on empowering women and youth. He urged students to “dream big” and contribute to India’s growth story.

Malabar Group Chairman M.P. Ahammad said human resource development remains key to national progress, adding that the scholarship programme would enable students to achieve academic success and contribute to the economy. The CSR plan will be implemented across 3,000 locations in 19 states, benefiting over 2 lakh people. Of the total outlay, ₹114 crore is earmarked for education, ₹30 crore for food distribution, ₹14.2 crore for healthcare, and ₹25 crore for housing projects such as ‘Grandma Home’.

The company will also expand micro-learning centres for street children from 1,543 to 2,500 in partnership with Pratham Education Foundation. Since inception, Malabar’s CSR initiatives have impacted over 1.8 million people globally.
