H.R. Keshava Murthy, a senior gamaka exponent, who was honored with Padma Shri earlier this year, died. He was born in a very family of gamaka artists. He had his initial coaching from his father Ramaswamy Shastry. Underneath the steering of Venkateshaiah he continued his studies. Over the decades he has conferred many programmes and trained several students. Through his performances, he heralded noted South Dravidian epics. Hosahalli, his native place, is understood for several music abilities.
Keshava Murthy has been honored with several awards inlcuding Shantala Natya Shri award, by the regime and totally different cultural organisations. The President honored him with the Padma Shri this year.
