Make-in-India technology is assisting the Border Security Force to destroy drones transporting dangerous weapons, ammunition and drugs from the neighbouring country Pakistan with huge establishment, the head of the force said to the media on Wednesday, publicizing how it has destroyed 16 drones so far this year, compared to just 1 in the year 2021.
The force has also established drones that can pull down tear gas shells with accuracy.
As per the BSF, most of the drones which are made to fly outside the territory are manufactured in China and are accessible in the open market.
“The force is focusing on establishing its own mechanism. With the support of our team, we would make low-cost technology solutions,” Mr. Singh said.
“The Home Ministry has permitted Rs 30 crore for the project, and we are going to locate as many as 5,500 cctv cameras along our borders,” Mr. Singh said to the reporters.
