The Government of Assam, in collaboration with Tricog Health, has embarked on a significant initiative to tackle the rising prevalence of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) with the launch of the Heart Health Management (STEMI) program. This strategic move aims to combat the increasing burden of heart-related ailments and elevate preventive cardiac care across the state.
The government has launched a Hub and Spoke model in Assam to address the surge in cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) and emphasize proactive health management, aiming to quickly diagnose and treat severe heart cases. The first phase of the program, a pilot implementation study, has successfully been conducted in 10 selected health facilities of Kamrup Metropolitan district in Assam. Dr. Pranab Jyoti Bhattacharya, HOD, Cardiology, Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), states, “We aim to detect and save lives across Assam.”
The Heart Health Management Program (STEMI) in Assam uses Tricog Health’s technology to establish a comprehensive system for heart attacks. The program uses a cloud-connected 12 Lead ECG for rapid detection and interpretation, along with a proprietary software algorithm for care coordination and analytics. The “STEMI Protocol” is created by a state scientific committee led by Dr. Pranab Jyoti Bhattacharya, HOD, Cardiology, Guwahati Medical College and Hospital. This initiative is a significant step forward in improving public cardiac health in Assam, facilitated by government and healthcare experts.
