Severely attack on fast food vendor while returning home from wedding in Naxalbari

Naxalbari, May 08: In a tragic turn of events, a 24-year-old fast food vendor was brutally attacked while on his way home from a wedding ceremony. The injured youth has been identified as Joy Burman of Shanti Nagar.

According to reports, this shocking incident came to light at Tukaria turn in Naxalbari late on Tuesday night. A group of attackers targeted Burman when he was returning home alone after a wedding ceremony. Reportedly, Joy was allegedly hit on the head with an iron rod. Later, locals found the youth and took him to Naxalbari Rural Hospital, from where he was referred to a private hospital in Bagdogra.

After this, the family of the injured and the local Panchayat member and head demanded strict punishment to the culprits. Meanwhile, Naxalbari police swiftly began investigating the attack and detained seven people for questioning. At present the event is being further investigated.

Recently the 25th day of the Bengali month of Baisakh was marked by a grand celebration honoring the birth anniversary of renowned poet Rabindranath Tagore in Naxalbari. Reportedly, on Wednesday morning, a program was actually organized by Naxalbari Sarada Vidyamandir, featuring IPS Ashish Kumar, the acting in-charge of Naxalbari police station, who laid a floral tribute at the statue of ‘Kaviguru’ within the police station premises. In fact the event witnessed the active participation of school teachers and esteemed social figures.

After this a vibrant procession was carried out from the police station which circumambulated various areas. IPS Ashish Kumar emphasized the enduring importance of Kaviguru’s ideals, advocating for a society guided by principles of peace, love, and integrity. Bhakti Nagar Traffic Police successfully retrieved stolen scooter of Civic Volunteer from Kalimpong, one arrested

Siliguri, 6th May (Retd.). In a significant breakthrough, Bhakti Nagar Traffic Police has successfully recovered the stolen scooter of a Civic Volunteer from Kalimpong. After this incident, accused thief Arpan Darji was arrested.

According to reports, Kalimpong police station had received a complaint of theft of a civic volunteer’s scooter. Despite initial investigation yielding no clues, ASI Haripad Roy of Bhakti Nagar traffic point spotted Arpan Darji riding the scooter during his morning duty. This aroused suspicion and traffic police personnel conducted a thorough investigation.

After this, Arpan Tailor was stopped and interrogated for necessary documents and license. On enquiry, Arpan claimed that the scooter belonged to his friend. However, upon checking the number plate of the scooter, it was confirmed to be stolen property.

Subsequently, Haripada Roy immediately informed the Bhakti Nagar police station, which led to the arrest of Arpan Tailor. The detained person and the recovered vehicle were handed over to Kalimpong Police Station in the afternoon for further legal proceedings. At present the incident is being further investigated.

5 members of gang participating in shakedown from passengers arrested from NJP station

Siliguri, 05 May (Retd.). In a joint effort, NJP Police, GRP and RPF successfully arrested five members of a gang involved in extortion from passengers at stations and trains. The arrested persons have been identified as Mohammad Rahbar, Wahid, Mohammad Shohrab Alam, Mohammad Javed and Mohammad Syed Alam, all residents of Araria, Bihar.

According to reports, this action was taken during a special security check conducted at NJP railway station on Saturday. The team found 9 mobile phones from the five suspects, leading to thorough interrogation. Further investigation by the GRP revealed their involvement in passenger extortion activities which led to the arrest.

On Sunday, the five accused were presented in Jalpaiguri court. Here, NJP Police and GRP are engaged in investigation of the case.

Recently Siliguri police station recovers lost phone in 35 minutes

Recently the cops of Siliguri police station demonstrated swift action as they recovered a lost mobile phone within 35 minutes of receiving the complaint. Following the recovery, the mobile phone has been handed over to its rightful owner. Reportedly, Swapan Ghosh, a resident of Dhupguri Nathua Hat, reported the loss of his mobile phone while traveling by NBST bus, to meet his son in Siliguri. Actually upon filing a complaint at the Siliguri police station, the officials swiftly tracked the phone’s location to the Tenzing Norgay bus terminus at Siliguri Junction.

Subsequently, the police actually retrieved the phone, completed necessary procedures, and returning it to Ghosh. Actually owner Swapan Ghosh was elated at the swift resolution. New Jalpaiguri police arrested 4 people in theft case at Phulbari Bypass Truck Terminal

Fulbari, April 27: In a recent development, the New Jalpaiguri (NJP) police station has arrested four people in connection with the theft of parts worth lakhs of rupees from several trucks at the Fulbari Bypass Truck Terminal.

The arrested accused have been identified as Zariful Ali, Jamshed Ali, Alimul Haq and Hasan Ali, all residents of different areas of Phulbari.

A few days ago, an incident of theft was reported from the said terminal where parts of several trucks were allegedly stolen. After the incident, the terminal management lodged a written complaint at the NJP police station.

Based on the complaint, the police started investigation and arrested the four accused. The officers also recovered stolen goods from their possession.

On Saturday, all four accused were presented in Jalpaiguri district court. At present the police is engaged in further investigation.

From Cooch Behar’s Sitalkuchi five socket bombs recovered

On Wednesday Sensation prevailed in the area following the recovery of socket bombs from Sitalkuchi of Cooch Behar. Reportedly, the locals spotted the bombs on the banks of the River Khutamara at Purba Sitalkuchi village of Sitalkuchi block. After this the matter was promptly reported to the police.

Upon being alerted, the cops of Sitalkuchi police station actually arrived at the spot and recovered five socket bombs. At present, the police are engaged in further investigation. This is actually very sad incident as it has created panic among people. In fact it is good that people get alerted after seeing this incident and informed about it to the police. Police should take this incident very strictly and take proper action so that this type of incident does not happen in future. In Fulbari youth assaulted publicly and accused absconding

Recently an unsettling incident surfaced from Paschim Dhantala area of Teesta Canal Road adjacent to Murder More of Fulbari II Gram Panchayat where a youth was publicly assaulted, resulting in severe injuries. In fact the accused involved in the act has been absconding after the incident. Actually the injured youth, identified as Sushant Das, is a resident of Purba Dhantala area of Fulbari. According to reports, two youths were actually travelling through Pashchim Dhantala of Fulbari on a bicycle. During this, they were engaged in heated argument over an issue which soon escalated. Before the locals could understand the issue, the accused fled from the scene after assaulting Sushant and pushing him to the ground.

Upon witnessing the incident, the locals immediately informed the cops of New Jalpaiguri (NJP) police station. Promptly, the police actually arrived at the spot, rescued the injured youth and took him to Siliguri District Hospital for treatment. Currently, the police are actually engaged in a detailed investigation of the incident.

Recently the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) of all booths of Alipurduar Lok Sabha constituency have been sealed in DCRC strong room situated at Alipurduar University. Reportedly, the EVMs would actually be kept in the strong room guarded by paramilitary forces till June 4. Notably, after the first phase of Lok Sabha elections ended on Friday, the EVMs were actually brought from all the booths to the strong room.

Today the strong room was sealed in the presence of all party candidates and agents. In fact the strong room would be under strict vigilance by central force and police till the counting of votes. It is actually good thing that this election is conducting in very safe way so that it end in very fair way. For peaceful voting Siliguri’s Ghogomali Girls’ High School marked as ‘Model Booth’

Recently Ghogomali Girls’ High School located in Ward No. 36 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) actually has been marked as ‘Model Booth’ for peaceful voting. Actually it is to be noted that the Election Commission has marked several booths as ‘Model Booths’ to convey the message of maintaining peace in elections and to promote voting. Reportedly, the polling station of the school was actually decorated as model polling station while the entire school was decorated with pink balloons where voting was underway peacefully since Friday morning.

Significantly, voting took place in three parts of booth No. 19/13, 19/17, 19/18 where Central forces were also stationed. In this regard, Ward Councillor Ranjan Sil Sharma stated that the polling has been actually going on in a peaceful manner since morning in the booth. This is actually good news as today people want to give vote fairly and peacefully. In reality people should learn from this case and should expect a fair election like this.
